The Natchez Trace not
only teaches us about our history, but shows us Mississippi’s future: Grand Gulf
Nuclear Station, one of the top-performing nuclear power plants in the country,
will undergo an upgrade that will allow it to produce enough clean, safe,
reliable and affordable power to supply an additional 178,000 typical homes.
This will create an economic influx of $500 to $600 million, and will help
attract and retain business and jobs in the state. The initial cost will largely
be offset by the savings the plant will ultimately produce.
