James “Robbin” Jeter serves as vice president of distribution operations, having been promoted to the position in early 2014. In this role, Robbin is charged with ensuring the safe, reliable distribution of power to Entergy Mississippi’s approximately 449,000 customers. In Robbin’s previous role, director of transmission and distribution operations, he oversaw delivery of electric service and reliability to customers across the state.

Jeter began his utility career in 1985 as a substation design engineer with what was then Mississippi Power & Light. He then served as a distribution field engineer, later partnering with the account management team to manage and grow a portfolio of Entergy’s largest Mississippi customers.

Jeter then promoted to manager of the company’s north Jackson service area. In this role, he managed safety processes and compliance, reliability, operational improvements and outage restoration for approximately 40,000 customers.

This position was followed by responsibilities both in the company’s safety program and as region manager, in which he managed electric service and reliability for the Jackson, Madison and Rankin areas.

As operations manager in Jackson, Jeter led storm restoration efforts, managed reliability and infrastructure improvements and supervised large distribution construction projects. He was also responsible for resource deployment and daily management of the electrical distribution system.

Jeter received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in business administration from Millsaps College.
